Jasco Corporation was founded in 1958 to provide the scientific community with optical spectroscopy products.

In the mid-1950's a group of researchers in the Institute of Optics of what is now Tsukuba University needed an Infrared Spectrophotometer for their research. Since a commercially available instrument was not yet existing at the time, they undertook the challenge to develop their own.

The result was quite a success - a reliable instrument with excellent optical performance. As a second result, other research groups asked them to replicate the instrument for use within their laboratories. Founding members included World famous physicist Yoshio Fujioka and Nobel Prize winner Shinichiro Tomonaga.

Over the years the JASCO product line has grown to cover instruments used, not only in research but also for routine analysis applications in areas such as quality control, environmental analysis, and process control.
With the introduction of HPLC in the mid-1970's JASCO's experience in highly sensitive and accurate optical systems led to the development of a series of chromatographic detection systems. Fixed and variable wavelength UV/Visible and Fluorescence detectors were introduced featuring excellent sensitivity and reliability in compact modules. In order to offer complete HPLC systems Jasco developed a variety of novel solvent delivery systems as well as other accessories such as column ovens, autosamplers, and PC based control and analysis software.

JASCO is also the world leader in the field of Circular Dichroism Spectropolarimeters and Vibrational Circular Dichroism Spectrometers.

Milestones

JASCO International aims to address the ever-changing analytical needs of the scientific community worldwide, by providing the very highest standards in analytical instrumentation.

sphere-s

In the twenty first century, we live in a rapidly changing and ever diversifying world. Each step forward in human progress brings new demands and challenges in science.

JASCO International aims to meet the highest standards of accuracy, precision, sensitivity and reproducibility: the cornerstones of scientific instrumentation. Our expertise covers both spectroscopy and chromatography. In this way we aim to contribute greatly to fields as diverse as materials science and biochemistry, from frontier research through to quality control.

Environmental monitoring, protection and pollution control, are amongst the most crucial problems that we face. With better and more appropriate products, we can help to reverse the damage to our planet’s fragile ecosystem and contribute to a brighter future for all its inhabitants.

JASCO International products and services cover the complete analytical spectrum. The life sciences, including proteomics and biochemistry, drug discovery, pharmaceuticals, advanced materials, semiconductor manufacturing and environmental protection are all covered by our extensive range.

Chromatography

With the introduction of HPLC in the mid-1970's, JASCO's experience in optical systems led to the development of chromatographic detection systems; and, over time, complete HPLC systems.  In 1985, JASCO began offering a supercritical fluid chromatography (SFC) system, including the patented back-pressure regulator and, in 2005, an ultra high performance LC system (UHPLC) was introduced. JASCO's current chromatography product line includes:
